Natural Resources Wales, Skomer Marine Conservation Zone – North Haven seagrass management

Project Details

Zostera marina is a feature of the Skomer Marine Conservation Zone management plan. 

Monitoring the extent and density of the North Haven seagrass bed has been completed every 4 years from 1997 to 2023 (NRW Marine Evidence Report 753  Natural Resources Wales / Marine and coastal evidence reports). The site has additionally been the focus of several research projects. 

A ‘No anchoring zone’ was set up in 1990 and four ‘day visitor’ moorings are maintained by Natural Resources Wales.
